Pets, we love them, but just like any member of our family they can make messes of our floors. The carpet in our homes can act like a magnet for dirty paws, pet hair, urine, and feces. Rest assured there are methods to safely and effectively remove these unwanted messes that will leave you with a clean and healthy carpet again.
Pre-Inspection
In order to help identify areas of pet staining we will use a black light. Under the black light, areas that your pets have urinated will show up as a sea foam green color. Doing this will allow us to identify all areas that will need to be address using our pet treatment cleaning solution.
Enzymes
In extreme cases of pet staining, a solution that utilizes enzymes may be used to clean the stained area. Enzymatic cleaners break down urea (found in pet urine) into water and carbon dioxide. Typically the chemical reaction time for this to work can be relatively lengthy and will be discussed with our customers when this style of treatment is necessary.
Peroxide
In most instances a peroxide type cleaner will be used to remove pet stains. Peroxide solutions use the power of oxygen to blast apart the stain. Apart from their effectiveness, this method works much better at limiting wicking and the likelihood that the stain will reappear as the area dries.
